Family Home Theater featuring
the Control 4 Home Control System

Mt Baker Home | Seattle, Washington

This classic 8,570 square foot home in the Mount Baker neighborhood (in greater Seattle) was built in 1911. The homeowners contacted us because of frustration with their Crestron system. They were seeking a better solution to control the family home theater, which included a library of over 15,000 mp3’s and 1,000 DVD’s.

Home Theater
Architechtronics chose the Control 4 system because it provided the perfect solution to seamlessly integrate the current home theater equipment along with the extensive media library, while still being extremely easy for all the members of the family to use.

Once the Control 4 system was in place, all the television channels were categorized in 4 functional groups: Kids, Movies, Sports, and Local for quick and easy access with minimal navigation.

The family home theater proved to be a comfortable and fun place (how could it not be with a huge “Sulley” from Monsters Inc!) for the homeowners to spend time in. We
re-created a movie like experience by slowly dimming the lights when a movie begins to play. When the family hits “pause” to grab more popcorn, a pathway of lights illuminate the way.

control 4 touchscreenWhen introduced to the Control 4 on screen navigator and how simple it was to control the system, the homeowners were thrilled with the capabilities. Later in the project, we introduced the Control 4 Wi-Fi touchscreen, which allowed the freedom and flexibility of controlling the system anywhere in the home.

Home Office
When it’s time to get some work done, the homeowners can quietly pull away to the home office and continue to view the same picture as the home theater plasma. Or, if out of town on business, the full DVD library is just a few clicks away.

Audio
A wireless solution fills the home and provides the ability to select any of the 15,000 mp3’s throughout the home.

Homeowners prefer Control 4 to Crestron System.
The current Crestron system was disappointing to the homeowners because the Satellite receiver could no longer be controlled and the lower screen resolution on the touchscreen was becoming more and more noticeable when compared to newer products.

With the upgrade to the Control 4 system, the whole family could enjoy a kid-friendly system that was easy to use, easy to navigate, and would not get locked up in operation or out of sync with the multiple Audio/Video devices.
